Described as “dazzling” and “elegant” by the Chicago Tribune, AnnLaura Tapia is a highly regarded professional harpist. With her rich sound and innate musicality, AnnLaura’s mastery of her instrument is rarely matched. While still a student, AnnLaura had the distinct honor of playing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England, at the request of Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. Lauded as an exquisite performer, AnnLaura entrances listeners with the beauty of her music.
AnnLaura Tapia studied with Alice Chalifoux at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She continued her studies under the tutelage of Judy Loman at the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. AnnLaura has also worked with many world renowned conductors, including Pierre Boulez, Leon Fleisher, and Peter Oundjian.
As well as being an active and in-demand freelance harpist, AnnLaura Tapia devotes herself to Abellimento Flute and Harp Duo, her collaboration with celebrated flutist Gia Sastre. AnnLaura performs regularly as a soloist, with her duo, and as part of larger ensembles.
